September marked the 2-year anniversary of Happily Eating and I thought I would take a moment to reflect on this past year. When I started the blog in 2013, I did it to have an outlet as I was going through such a difficult time. Little did I know what was on the horizon for me. I received an overwhelming amount of love and support from friends, family and people I didn’t know. As I reached one year with the site, I wanted to meet other like-minded people and explore more of Atlanta’s culinary scene. I got exactly what I asked for and more. Look at God! Lol. I have met so many amazing people, attended some pretty awesome events, tried numerous restaurants and have recently transitioned into doing some travel blogging. Let’s take a walk down memory lane to see some of the highlights of this past year and how much better my pictures have gotten lol 🙂

Le C&S Plateaux De Fruits De Mer
As a food blogger, I typically get the same questions asked over and over and one of them is “Where’s a good place to get seafood in the city?” I was invited to a media dinner last week at C & S Seafood located in the Vinings area. It was hosted by Erica Key and Postfav (more about them later). I couldn’t wait to try the restaurant since it is located on my side of town, right off Cobb Parkway. I figured this would be a great chance for me to add another seafood restaurant to my list.
The dinner was on a Wednesday night, so when I walked in to the restaurant, I was surprised to see how busy they were. The evening began with an introduction from Erica and she also introduced Cari, the creator of Postfav and the uber chic fashion blog Layllah Style. Before Cari began, we were brought a huge platter of oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail and true red king crab. As much as I’ve eaten out in my life, I’ve never had the opportunity to indulge in something like this. We were all stunned a how beautiful the presentation was. Of course in typical blogger fashion, we started snapping away pictures. We are used to getting the stares that come along with our profession when we are flashing away with our cameras in a crowded restaurant lol. Continue reading
When I started blogging, it was for fun and it was a way to escape from what I was dealing with at the time. I was unemployed, on food stamps and was trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. Now, here I am 2 years later my with head held high relishing in all that I’ve accomplished. I got a job, the blog has grown consistently month after month and I’ve had the chance to work with several brands and of course eat my way through Atlanta.
As I’ve worked my way through the culinary scene and my followers and readership on Happily Eating has grown, I’ve gotten asked some of the same questions repeatedly about me, why I started blogging and just some general questions or statements about blogging. So I thought it would be a good idea to touch on a couple of those things as well as answer some of my most frequently asked questions.
