I’ve been in Atlanta almost 10 years and I am guilty (and slightly embarrassed) of being that Atlantan that never travels outside of the Perimeter. I recently had the opportunity to visit Maya Steaks and Seafood located on Roswell Rd. in Sandy Springs owned by Chef Mimmo Alboumeh who also owns the popular Red Pepper Taqueria. People seem to think the best restaurants are in town, but I’m here to tell ya, that is definitely not the case.

Maya Steaks is bringing your classic American style steakhouse to Sandy Springs, but with a Spanish flair in an upscale environment. It’s pretty quaint walking in and it is definitely a great date night place because of how intimate the setting. The lights are pretty dim and the seating is cozy. Our waiter Brian was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some really great recommendations that we used throughout the evening. Continue reading

Marlow’s Tavern has turned into one of my favorite places
