If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I’ve frequented Marlow’s Tavern on a number of occasions the last couple of months. I stopped in recently to try some items from their new “Bayou n’ Bourbon” menu that celebrates Cajun style food which is right on time with Mardi Gras season. Continue reading

Culinary Fight Club Atlanta

Culinary Fight Club is a fundraiser competition that is one part pop-up restaurant and one part Iron Chef, where three Atlanta area Chefs compete for what is known as the “golden ticket” to the 2015 World Food Championships. Culinary Fight Club Founder, Jiwon McCartney has chosen Atlanta as the next hub for this cooking competition since we all know that Atlanta has become a go to place for foodies in the South. Proceeds from this event goes towards Culinary Fight Clubs Chicago based non-profit sister organization, Fight 2 Feed who’s mission is to feed those in need of a meal.

This year’s competition was held at the Doubletree Hotel in Buckhead with Chef Richard Green the Executive Chef of the Doubletree Buckhead, Chef Sophia Lin Kanno of Legendary Events and Chef Andrew Tokas of Domaine Wines as Atlanta’s first to compete.  Continue reading

Happily Eating: Christophe’s To Go

Shrimp Risotto

Shrimp Risotto

As much as I love to cook, these days I don’t always have the time. Christophe’s To Go is the ideal situation when you’ve gotten off work late and you want to eat before 8pm or maybe you want the kids to have a hearty meal but they’ve been at sports practice all evening so cooking isn’t an option. Christophe’s To Go has multiple retail locations throughout Atlanta as well as cooler locations. I always felt there was a need for something like this but was concerned about how healthy it would or could be as well as the ingredients used and preservatives.  Continue reading

Happily Eating at Poor Calvin’s Hosted by Keurig

Photo Feb 27, 12 45 02 PM

I recently attended a lunch/demo of the new Keurig 2.0 coffee machine and lunch was hosted by Poor Calvin’s. I wasn’t that excited to go back as my first experience was not that great. On this particular day Chef Calvin was there and was in the kitchen. I wanted to update this post as the experience I had this time around, was NOTHING like the first one. Continue reading

Atlanta Magazine Best of Atlanta Party 2015

IMG_0912[1]Every year for the last 28 years, Atlanta Magazine hosts its Best of Atlanta Party celebrating the best that Atlanta restaurants have to offer. Tickets to this event included unlimited food tastings from Atlanta’s best Chefs and drink tastings from top brands and a 1-year subscription to Atlanta Magazine. Proceeds from this event went to The Giving Kitchen. First off, I have to say that I love any event that is indoors. I am such a girly girl, so being outside while enjoying multiple libations is right up my alley. I was fortunate enough to receive VIP tickets to the event, so that meant early entry for me at 6pm. As I walked in, I was overwhelmed with how big the exhibit hall was as I’d never been in this part of Cobb Galleria.

Let’s take a peek inside the event…
